The arena filled with laughter as Edmonton Rush mascot Slush did a face plant while running out from underneath a giant inflatable lacrosse character, during team introductions.
It was in good humor, of course. Slush's clumsiness is all in the name of entertainment, so it's safe to say the hairy mascot wasn't the least affronted, but rather pleased at generating guffaws.
Judging by the sea of youth dancing, cheering, and making noise, the pep rally was an overwhelming success, and delivered a powerful message that won't soon be forgotten by the world's future leaders.
