Edmonton, AB -- The Edmonton Rush are pleased to announce BMO as the presenting sponsor of the team's kids summer camp for field and box lacrosse.

The agreement includes this year's camp current under way at the Leduc Recreation Centre under the tutelage of some of the Rush's top talent. Head instructors at this summer's camp are:

  • Brodie Merrill - two-time NLL Transition Player of the Year and Captain of Team Canada (Field)
  • Jimmy Quinlan - original member of the Rush and two-time NLL All-Star
  • Gavin Prout - six-time NLL All-Star and 2006 Champion's Cup Final MVP
  • Ryan Ward - two-time NLL All-Star and 2009 Rush leading scorer

"The Rush have always been an active player in the community and it is fantastic to have such an elite corporate teammate like BMO," said Gord Sawyer, Rush Team President.

The summer camp has been a fixture of the off-season schedule for the Rush since the team's inception, and has been a valuable tool in not only teaching the basics of the game, but also aiding in the development of experienced players as they strive to reach higher levels.

Younger participants have had the chance to pick up playing skills as well as the opportunity to discover many values including overall fitness and team work. Many participants in the camp have gone on to play for high school, provincial, and other representative teams after learning the finer points of the game from the pros on the Rush roster.
