The Edmonton Rush lost 13-7 to the Colorado Mammoth tonight at Rexall place in Edmonton. Colorado's impressive powerplay proved to be too much for the Rush to handle, scoring six times in eight chances. Edmonton didn't find that kind of success, going 1 for 8 on the night. The Rush now stand at 1-12 while the Mammoth move to 7-5.

Leading the way for the Rush were Jamey Bowen (2G, 1A) and Colin Sherbanuk (1G, 2A), while Ben Prepchuk (2G, 4A), Gavin Prout (2G, 3A), and Jay Jalbert (5A) stood out for Colorado. The Mammoth outshot the Rush 50-45.

The Rush started the game well, leading 3-2 after the first two minutes of the second quarter. They had goals by Jamey Bowen, Brad Dairon, and Chris McElroy, while Colorado countered with goals by Dan Carey and Chris Gill, who scored on the powerplay with just one second left in the first quarter.

The Mammoth responded after that, scoring nine out of the next ten goals. Three goals were scored on the powerplay while one was shorthanded. The lone Rush goal during that time was scored by Colin Sherbanuk, his second of the year. Colorado never looked back after that run, adding two more powerplay markers while the Rush could only counter with goals by Trent Smalley, Jamey Bowen, and Kevin Howard to make the final 13-7.

The Rush now have one last chance to win a home game in their inaugural season. They take on the other expansion franchise Portland Lumberjax on Fri, Mar. 31. The game starts at 7:30. The Rush's final three games of the year are against the Lumberjax.
