Cam Bergman

Jamie Roy

Bergman, who filled in for injured Rush captain Andrew Turner at the All-Star Game in Toronto, scored four goals and added 14 assists while playing in 11 games last season. The defenceman is one of the league's fastest players and his quickness in transition will continue to be a key to the Rush offence in 2007.
"Whenever you have a guy with Cam's speed, he'll always be a threat," said A.J. Jomha, the Rush's Director of Lacrosse Operations and Assistant Coach.
Also signing a new contract for the 2007 campaign is defenceman Chris McElroy, one of the Rush's most energetic players last season when he racked up three goals and nine assists in 14 games.
"Last year, both Cam and Chris were dynamic and added such energy to our game with their speed and toughness," added Jomha. "I'm looking forward to more excitement from both of them and I think it could really be a breakout year for both of them."
McElroy also played a key role in launching the Rush's community outreach program and he'll take on an even greater role this season as a full-time employee of the Rush visiting schools to teach lacrosse to students.
The Rush also announced the signing of veteran Jamie Roy, a free agent who last played in the NLL in 2004. In four seasons with the Ottawa Rebel and Vancouver Ravens, Roy, a powerfully built yet speedy transition player, notched 27 goals and 29 assists in 45 career games.
Following their second weekend of training camp, the Rush released Kyle McEwen and Chad Evans.
