The Edmonton Rush are adding an "Ultimate" force to their legion of fans for Saturday night's 2007 NLL season-opening game against the Philadelphia Wings.

Edmonton's own UFC fighter Jason "The Athlete" MacDonald will be in attendance for the game and as part of his appearance, MacDonald will drive one of the Rush's stylish choppers onto the floor at halftime and then join the Rush players on the Rexall Place carpet for the post-game autograph session. MacDonald will be seated alongside Rush owner Bruce Urban - a big fan of Jason's and the UFC - during the game.

MacDonald has recently returned to Alberta following his tremendous victory at UFC 66 on Dec. 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Jason is now 2-0 in the UFC after defeating "The Ultimate Fighter" reality TV show star Chris Leben by chokeout submission. And just as he was returning home from the fight, MacDonald was signed to a brand-new deal with the UFC that includes his next bout - a showdown with former UFC middleweight champion Rich "Ace" Franklin at UFC 68: The Uprising on March 3 in Columbus, Ohio.

"I am very excited about attending the game and I can't wait to climb aboard either the Orange County or Von Dutch Chopper," said MacDonald. "I've been riding motorcycles since I was a kid but this is going to something special.

"I'm really hoping I can spark the Rush to their very first home win. If I have anything to say about it, the Rush are going to clip the Wings and send them back to Philadelphia with their heads hanging low just like Chris Leben's was after I beat him."

MacDonald's appearance coincides with the arrival of the new Von Dutch Kustom Cycle which will be unveiled by Von Dutch master designer Alex Mardikian. The Rush's first game of the 2007 NLL season also marks the start of several new in-game features including the McDonald's Goal Giveaway, the Boston Pizza/91.7 The Bounce Goal Rush and River Cree Casino Roulette.
