Jimmy Quinlan - 5 goals
Jimmy Quinlan

After losing all eight home games last season, the Edmonton Rush finally pulled out a win on their home floor last night.

Randy Daly's game-winning goal with less than one second remaining in the fourth quarter put it in the bag for the Rush as they defeated the Philadelphia Wings 13-12 in the first regular-season game of the 2007 NLL schedule for both teams.

Rush forward Jimmy Quinlan scored five goals while newcomers Chris Gill and Dan Stroup paced the Rush attack with a new level of offensive explosiveness. Gill finished with four goals and four assists and Stroup notched two goals and three assists.

The game started off slow as the Wings scored the only goal in the first quarter. But the Rush pressed hard and went ahead the game with two power-play goals early in the second.

The Wings weren't about to back down though, as they came back to take a 5-2 lead into halftime.

Jamie Roy brought the Rush even at 10-10 before a pair from 44 seconds apart put the Rush up. The Wings got even at 12-12 on goals by Geoff Snider, who was playing in his game with Philadelphia, and Kyle Wailes 26 seconds apart.

Pat Campbell went the distance in the Rush net, making 39 saves and adding to the Rush's transition attack with four assists.
