The Edmonton Rush are pleased to announce the revised 2008 NLL schedule. The schedule remains a 16-game season (8 home and 8 away) for the 2008 National Lacrosse League season. The season home opener will see the Rush host the five-time champion Toronto Rock on January 19.

The original schedule for the 2008 season was lost when the league cancelled the season back on October 16th, when a deadline to reach a new Collective Bargaining Agreement with its player's association was not met. On October 24th, it was announced that a new seven-year CBA had been reached, and that a new schedule would be created for the 2008 season, subject to availability of dates at each team's home arena. In the new schedule, twelve teams will each play a sixteen-game regular season schedule.

In light of the cancellation of the original 2008 season schedule, the Arizona and Boston franchises have opted not to play in 2008. A dispersal draft will be held next week.

Among the season highlights are three meetings with the arch-rival Calgary Roughnecks, including two at Rexall Place with one ending the regular season at home setting the stage for a rematch of last year's final game as well as three games against the Colorado Mammoth, including a home-and-home series.

The first-ever visit to Western Canada for the reigning NLL Champions, the Rochester Knighthawks, is still to take place on March 15 during the All Star Game weekend.

The Rush will play its West Division rivals 12 times with three games apiece against the Calgary Roughnecks (2 home, 1 away), Colorado Mammoth (1 home, 2 away), Portland Lumberjax (1 home, 2 away) and San Jose (2 home, 1 away).

They will make two trips into the East Division during the 2008 season when they take on the Chicago Shamrox in January and a visit to the Air Canada Centre in March.

"Our fans really get into the game against the division rivals and those will be very important games this season as we have full intentions on making the Champion's Cup playoffs," added Vienneau.

"Plus our games against Toronto have always been heated in addition to being great for promoting professional lacrosse right across Canada."

2008 season tickets for the Rush are on sale now.
