The Edmonton Rush signed forward Steve Hutchins to a one-year contract on Monday. Edmonton selected Hutchins with the first pick of the second round (15th overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft. The 21-year-old forward scored 24 goals for Whitby this summer.

On draft day, the Rush dealt #20 overall and forward Dan Finck to Boston in exchange for #15 overall, which they used to select Hutchins.

"We were able to watch hima quite a bit and felt we should trade up to get him," Rush GM/Head Coach Paul Day said last month. "He's big and fast and really a dynamic scorer. He's got a great outside shot and he can go to the net."

Conrad served as team captain in Oshawa this summer, where he scored 17 goals in 20 games. The 21-year-old defenseman was selected at 45th overall.

Hartzell, a 23-year-old Alberta native, was picked at 45th overall out of St. Andrews College.
