The Calgary Roughnecks defeated the Edmonton Rush, 18-7, in front of 12,451 fans at Pengrowth Saddledome on Saturday. The Roughnecks led 10-7 early in the fourth quarter before scoring the final eight goals of the game to turn a tight battle into a rout.

The win evens the season-series at 1-1. The two teams will meet once more in the season finale on April 26th at Rexall Place.

Calgary led at the half, 10-6, before a scoreless third quarter. Dan Stroup scored the lone Rush goal of the second half before the Roughnecks rattled off eight straight goals to decisively secure the win.

Kaleb Toth led the Roughnecks with four goals, while Curt Malawsky and Jeff Shattler added two. Devan Wray, Tracey Kelusky and Nolan Heavenor scored two goals apiece. Steve Dietrich allowed just seven goals and recorded 28 saves in his first start since he suffered a concussion earlier this year.

Stroup led the Rush with four goals, while Jimmy Quinlan added two. Curtis Palidwor (12 saves, 13 goals against) was pulled in the second quarter and replaced by Matt King (13 saves, 5 goals against), who saw his first action for Edmonton since he was acquired in a trade from Portland. King was successfully initially but was replaced again by Palidwor during Calgary's eight-goal run. Palidwor was credited with the loss.

Calgary (5-9) hosts the Toronto Rock next Saturday at Pengrowth Saddledome. Edmonton (4-8) is back in action again this weekend, meeting the San Jose Stealth on Sunday at 10:30 PM ET at HP Pavilion.
