The San Jose Stealth defeated the Edmonton Rush, 14-6, at HP Pavilion on Sunday. Ten different players scored goals for San Jose, while Anthony Cosmo and the Stealth defense put forth their best effort of the season, allowing just six goals.
Frank Resetarits, Tom Johnson, Jeff Zywicki and Eric Martin each scored two goals for San Jose, while six others added singles. Colin Doyle was held scoreless, but chipped in with four assists. Cosmo stopped 40 shots in the win.
After a mid-season turnaround in which the Rush won four of their last six games, Edmonton has dropped two straight this weekend to fall back into the West basement. Randy Daly and Mike Hominuck scored two goals apiece for Edmonton. Curtis Palidwor recorded 36 saves in the loss.
San Jose (8-6) hosts the Portland LumberJax next Friday at HP Pavilion. Edmonton (4-9) meets the Colorado Mammoth in a home-and-home series next weekend, kicking off on Friday at Pepsi Center.
