Dan Stroup

Edmonton, AB - Dan Stroup has been named as a Reserve for the 2008 National Lacrosse League All-Star Game.
Stroup was named to the West team, due to an injury suffered by Portland Lumberjax’s Ryan Powell, originally named as an All-Star Reserve. Powell suffered an ankle injury sustained in Portland's game at Calgary on Saturday.
Stroup will join three Rush members - Jimmy Quinlan, Chris McElroy and Mike Accursi in the West Division lineup as the Rush play host to this year's mid-season classic to be played at Rexall Place in Edmonton on Sunday, March 16. New Rush GM/Head Coach Bob Hamley will coach the West Division based on winning the West Division with the Arizona Sting during the 2007 NLL Champion's Cup playoffs. Four players attending the All-Star Game is a franchise-high for the Rush.
For Stroup, this is his third t All-Star Game appearance. Stroup ranks fourth on the Rush in scoring with 27 points on nine goals and 12 assists through six games.
The All-Star Game is part of a weekend full of festivities to celebrate the game of lacrosse in Edmonton.
