NLL.com - The Edmonton Rush have traded 36-year-old forward Chris Gill and their second round selection in the 2008 Entry Draft to the Colorado Mammoth in exchange for Colorado's first round selection in the 2008 Entry Draft.
Gill scored 29 goals and won a title with Colorado in 2006. Despite his Unrestricted Free Agent status, he was selected by Chicago in the Expansion Draft and dealt to Edmonton, where he was designated with a franchise player tag.
"We're very excited to reacquire Chris. He is a great athlete and plays the game with passion and desire," Mammoth general manager Steve Govett said. "He's been followed by success wherever he goes, and has been a great player in this league for many years."
Gill scored 37 goals for the Rush in 2007, but has only scored 12 goals (albeit a team-high) in 8 games in 2008.
The 12-year veteran has emassed 302 goals and 203 assists in 147 career games. He has won three NLL titles (1999 and 2000 with Toronto, 2006 with Colorado).
"I'm really excited about returning to Colorado and to the Mammoth organization," Gill said. "It will be nice playing for a championship contender and to be playing alongside former teammates."
Gill eclipsed the 50-goal mark in 2002, scoring 53 times with Vancouver.
